When you add an online gift to your registry, you're actually setting up a direct link, simplifying the purchasing process for your visitors. We highly recommend adding online gifts to your registry whenever possible. When you add an offline gift (a gift that is not linked to an online store), your guests will need to print the item description page and purchase it in a brick-and-mortar store, or search for it locally (or offline). When visitors choose to buy an offline gift, they will see a button to Mark as Purchased. If this is selected, we will mark the gift as purchased prior to the actual time of purchase. We do this to ensure that no one else will buy the gift in the meantime (unless you have requested multiple quantities).
